Joseph M. Stellabotte, MD

Joseph M. Stellabotte, MD “Dr. Joe” of Broomall, PA, returned home to God peacefully in the presence of his family on June 13, 2024, at age 66.

He was the beloved husband of Kerry Ann (née Duffin) Stellabotte. The loving father of Joseph Jr., Julia, Sophia, and Isabella Stellabotte. The beloved son of Grace (née Panichelli) Stellabotte and the late Joseph H. Stellabotte. He was the loving brother of Karen Stellabotte and Maryann Bentley (Geoffrey). He had many loving brothers and sisters-in-laws. He was also blessed with many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, one great-nephew, and one great-niece/nephew on the way, all of whom he loved dearly.

Dr. Joe was born on January 5, 1958 in Lansdowne, PA. He graduated from Central High School where he was the vice president of his senior class and a first team all-city running back for their football team. He also attended Temple University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy. He worked as a physical therapist in Norristown and Havertown. He later attended medical school at Hahnemann University where he received his MD in Internal Medicine. Dr. Joe completed his residency at Lankenau Hospital and a fellowship at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan in Sports Medicine. For the last 25 years, he worked for Premier Orthopedics as a Sports Medicine non-operative orthopedic physician.

Dr. Joe loved his practice and amazing colleagues and co-workers whom he treated like family. He was the team physician for both Haverford High School and St. Pius X for many years. He was passionate about getting his patients back up and running “in the game of life.” Dr. Joe loved his life and enjoyed being a member and giving back to his beloved St. Pius X Parish and Community. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Sunday evening, June 23, 2024, 4:00 - 7:00 PM and on Monday morning, June 24, 9:00 - 10:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. His Funeral Mass will follow, 11:00 AM, at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA. Interment will be held at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
