Charlotte Hauck Fielding passed away peacefully on Friday evening, August 9. She was 92. Born in Trunstadt, Germany she emigrated to the US with her parents John and Elizabeth Hauck and brothers Albin and Paul in 1928. Growing up in NJ, she graduated from Jonathan Dayton Regional High School in Springfield, NJ before meeting the love of her life, Bob Fielding, where they both worked for NJ Bell Telephone Company. Charlotte and Bob were married 62 years and raised three children in Basking Ridge, NJ before moving to Clinton, NJ and later, to Paoli, PA, to be near their daughter, Lisa.
Known as enthusiastic and active, Charlotte carved out a career as a working Mom, first at Epstein’s in Morristown, NJ and later as an involved volunteer at the Red Mill Museum in Clinton. Socially conscious and keen minded, Charlotte enjoyed taking classes at Villanova University well into her 80’s. Charlotte loved to travel, visiting Europe many times and always enjoyed the family’s annual retreat to North Litchfield, SC as the matriarch of her loving and supportive family.
Survived by her three loving children Robert Fielding (Julie), Pam Shjarback (the late Roger) and Lisa King (Peter), 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; family and tradition were tremendously important to Charlotte.
A memorial service is being planned for September.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Charlotte’s name to the Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton, NJ, www.theredmill.org.
