David Doyle

September 14, 1955 — February 11, 2020

David Michael Doyle, 64, of Downingtown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.

Born and raised in Delaware County, he was the son of the late Daniel Doyle and Loretta Callahan. He served his country with honor as a member of the United States Air Force Special Forces during the Vietnam conflict. Dave was an accomplished sales executive in the food service industry for over 30 years.

Dave Doyle was larger than life. His true magic came from his gigantic personality and enormous heart. He lit up every room he entered with his bright Irish eyes and infectious smile.  He was hilariously funny, and occasionally inappropriate, but always thoughtful and kind. He was the life of every party. He had an innate ability to put people at ease and make them feel good about themselves. He loved BIG and was loved the same way in return.

Dave was the proudest father. He loved his children and grandchildren fiercely. He was a brother to four siblings who he passionately adored, a devoted Uncle and a loyal friend. He was a loving husband to wife, Pam. His love for her was more than just words. It was a thousand inside jokes, a shared love for anything sports or family and a long list of endless shenanigans. He was her partner in crime and best friend.

Any story about Dave would not be complete without mentioning his first true love: The Philadelphia Eagles. From his brick on the sidewalk at Lincoln Financial Field, to his Jason Kelce mummer hat, Dave bled Eagles green. He was so thankful to witness a Super Bowl victory in his lifetime.

Fearless in life, he was affectionately referred to by friends and family as Brave Dave. With the adversity he faced this past year, he truly earned that name. In the face of a terrible disease with an awful prognosis, he thrived as only Dave could. He enjoyed life to its fullest when it wasn’t easy to do. To the very end he never complained. With his final gift to us all, he showed us how to live and die with courage and grace.

David is survived by his wife, Pamela Clemens Doyle; his children, David Doyle; James Doyle and wife Jacqueline; Danielle Doyle and wife Paula; grandchildren Harper, William, Grace, Daisha, Brianna, Kailey, Kalib, and the late David Michael; siblings Diane Doyle and wife Betty; Donna Hussey and husband Michael; Daniel Doyle; Megan Borkowski and husband Joseph; many beloved nieces and nephews and his best buddies, Luna and Bear.

Dave will be sorely missed but we take comfort in knowing that he is watching over us somewhere, smiling in his beach chair with Jimmy Buffet on the radio, feet in the sand and cocktail in hand.
