James Armstrong

James A. “Jim” Armstrong, 92, formerly of West Chester, PA passed away on January 23, 2020.

Born February 5, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Mary (nee Campbell) Armstrong Heideck and Herb Heideck.

He served honorably in the US Navy.

Jim worked at the Bell Telephone Company for forty years and was part of the Bell Telephone Pioneers.

He enjoyed golfing, photography and singing in the SS Simon & Jude Church Choir. He was also active in their Marriage Encounter Group.

Jim was the beloved husband for 70 years, of the late Jane “Jean” (née, Lowrie) Armstrong; loving father of Linda Ann Armstrong Lowrie (Scott); James Michael Armstrong (Linda) and the late Gary Paul Armstrong; adoring grandfather of Melissa Jane Lowrie, Timothy Scott Lowrie (Carrie),  Nicole Marie Cattano (Vince), Colleen Marie Tode (Brett), Christine Marie Bowie (Bob); caring step-grandfather of Amanda Wilkinson, Kathryn Wilkinson, Courtney Wilkinson and Brad Benematti; loving great-grandfather of Ryder, Colby, Colton, Nicholas, Kyle, Brooke and Grady. He is also survived by his sister Marie Armstrong Brown. He was also predeceased by his brother William John Armstrong and his daughter-in-law, Denise Roberts Armstrong (married to Jim for 30 years).

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00-10:50 AM Thursday, February 6, 2020 at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM. Interment Private.
