Richard John

Mr. Richard A. John, age 83, of Springfield, PA passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Carl and Mary John (nee Dinn). He was predeceased by his wife, Lucy John (nee Cipriani).

He prayed the rosary every day and often took sight-seeing day trips to the Poconos. He enjoyed Gunsmoke and MASH as well as going out to breakfast at Perkins and the Dairy Cottage. A loving and devoted husband and father, he enjoyed spending time on the computer and playing games with his family.

Richard was the devoted father of Mary-Theresa John (William O’Donnell) and Patricia Tomassetti (Frank). Dear grandfather of Jacquelyn Hoisington and Julia Tomassetti. He was predeceased by his brother, the late Robert C. John.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 9:30-10:20 AM at St. Francis of Assisi, 136 Saxer Ave, Springfield, PA 19064 followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Masks are to be worn to the Viewing, Funeral Mass and Cemetery. Social distancing is to be observed.
