Richard McHugh

Richard M. “Dick” McHugh, age 93, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on September 30, 2021. Born in Marple Township, he was the son of the late James and Margaret (nee Schreck) McHugh.

Dick was a proud Army Veteran, who served during the Korean War. He was a dedicated Construction Consultant for ICI, and AstraZeneca for many years. Dick enjoyed spending time with his family, he was a devoted father and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a history buff and loved traveling the country to visit historical landmarks.  In his younger years he was an avid motorcycle rider and enthusiast. During his stay at the Hickman, he was loved by all and known as the “King of Trivia”.

Dick was the loving father of Richard A. McHugh, Cynthia Runyon (Steven), and the late Virginia O. “Sis” Leone (Alvin); adoring grandfather of Jenna, Brittany, Marissa, Kyle, and Paige; caring great-grandfather of 7 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his dear friend, Dershane Grover, and her children Banhuu and Mickey. He was predeceased by his siblings, Helen “Honey” Hartenstein, Kay Kearney, Peggy Ritter, Dot Sherline, and Billy McHugh.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Saturday, October 9, 2021, 9:30-11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Service 11:00 AM. Interment Oaklands Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
