Rita Davis

Rita Marie Davis (Caniglia) passed away comfortably at her son’s home on September 15, 2021 with her family at her side at the age of 87.

Rita was born on October 16, 1933, in Wayne, Pennsylvania to the late Antoinette and Nicola Caniglia. She was the youngest of five children. Rita’s late brothers, Theodore, Vincent, Joseph, and Raymond Caniglia also from Wayne, Pennsylvania. Rita is survived by her many cousins, her nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews.

Rita married the late Jerry Davis in 1958 and had one child, Christopher R. Davis (Kathryn M. Davis) and two grandchildren, Brandon M. Davis and Grace M. Davis.

Rita retired from the Radnor Middle School in Wayne, as the principal’s assistant. Rita was an established pianist and graduate from St. Katherine’s in Wayne, PA.

Rita was a regular parishioner at St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Chester Springs, PA where she participated in many volunteer roles. Rita leaves behind numerous friends and former colleagues.

Rita was most adored for her sweet kindness, generosity and always impressed with her fashion sense as she was always so full of youthfulness and a vitality that everyone admired about her. Rita was often crafting wreaths for her favorite holiday seasons to adorn her home. Decorating with live plants was one of her favorite hobbies. We all will remember Rita with a sense of loss but know she is now with her late husband Jerry and beloved family.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9-10 AM Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Church, 120 St. Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs, PA 19425, followed by her Funeral Mass 10 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
