Robert Thompson, Sr.

Robert Edward Thompson, Sr., age 96, of Media, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2021.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Harry Alfred and Sarah Margaret (nee Kiefer) Thompson.

Robert was a graduate of West Philadelphia High School.  He went on to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps.  Robert was employed in the Automobile Sales Industry until his retirement in 1992.                                           .

Robert was the beloved husband of the late Jean Helen (nee Pfister) Thompson; the loving father of Gail A. Kline (George), William R. Thompson (Nancy), and the late Robert E. Thompson, Jr. (Leanne); the proud grandfather of Lauri Kline, Greg Kline, Eric Thompson,  Matt Thompson,  Amanda Thompson, and Valerie Thompson, and the great-grandfather of Sophia, Charles, Benjamin, and Jayme.  Robert is predeceased by his siblings, Harry A. Thompson, Jr., Helen Elizabeth Thompson (Lindner), Mildred Eloise Thompson (Wehner) and Gladys Elaine Thompson (Hughes).

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation, Thursday, August 12, 2021, 10:00 – 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073.  Interment service immediately following at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA. NOTE:  Family requests that all guests wear facial masks.
