Sarah Nunn

Sarah Jane Nunn, 95, of Newtown Square, PA, on August 21, 2019.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, in 1924, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Sarah Jane (nee Ferrell) O’Brien.

Sarah was the beloved wife of the late John E.  Nunn, Jr.; loving mother of John Nunn (Deirdre), William Nunn, Brien Nunn, Sr. (Mary), Sarah Nunn and Irene Dunlap (Paul); adoring grandmother of Katrina Jefferson (William), Brien, Jr., Kevin, John, Christina, Katie, and Jennifer; and caring great-grandmother of Richard John. She was 1 of 10 children and was predeceased by her 9 siblings.

Sarah loved her family, children, music, gadgets that made music, singing, dancing (back in the day), a good party, laughing, a bit of fun with neighbors on her front porch in the Summer, the Mummers, and the Phillies. She and John met at Clark Films, went to a Phillies game on their first date, and married after John returned home from serving in the Korean War. Family was at the center of their world. Over the years they enjoyed hosting Thanksgivings, birthday parties, graduation parties, etc., and New Years Eve's... banging pots and pans outside as the clock struck 12 midnight. Sarah passed away peacefully, surrounded by family.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Sunday, August 25, 2019, 5 – 7  PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073, 610-353-6300, and again on Monday, August 26, 2019, 10 - 11 AM  at Arlington Cemetery Chapel, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA  19026, followed by her Prayer Service at 11 AM.  Interment Arlington Mausoleum.
