SGT Sean McMenamin

SGT Sean E. McMenamin, age 35, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on May 21, 2021.

Born in Ireland, he was the son of Eamonn McMenamin and Helen Hegley.

Formerly of Pennsylvania, Sean graduated from High School and then enlisted in the United States Army as a Petroleum Supply Specialist.  SGT Mcenamin served his country honorably and was esteemed for his faithful and dedicated duty to every assignment.

SGT McMenamin’s awards included the Army Commendation Medal (1 Bronze OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (1 Silver OLC), the Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd award), the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the NATO Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Army Service Ribbon.

Sean was the kindest person, always there to help others in need.  He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and had a great sense of humor.  He loved a fun party and especially enjoyed barbecuing, watching football, playing baseball and bicycle riding.  Some of his plans for the future with his wife Georgiana included traveling around the world and retiring from the Army and opening his own food truck.

Sean fought the good fight and kept his sense of humor up to the very end.  He loved his family dearly and unconditionally and will be dearly missed by them as well as all his fellow Brothers & Sisters in Arms and many friends.

Sean was the beloved husband of Georgiana Goleanu; loving son of Eamonn McMenamin and Helen Hegley; dear brother of Allan McMenamin.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10 AM-12 PM Saturday, June 5, 2021 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300, followed by his Funeral Service at 12 PM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
