Adeline M. Dougherty, a resident of Springfield, PA for sixty-one years passed away surrounded by her family at home on December 18, 2016. Adeline was born in Philadelphia, PA to Carmine and Philomena (Di Giacomo) Del Corpo. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Dougherty of fifty-three years. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, Dennis Dougherty (Cindy), Joe Dougherty, Kevin M. Dougherty, Adele Ressler (Mark), Trisha Dougherty Lambert (Jim), seven grandchildren (Dennis, Shawn, Brian, Laura, Will, Katie, Emily), three great-grandchildren (Cyrus, Teagan, Elijah), and sister Rita Ward (Rob). Adeline's late siblings are James Del Corpo, Elizabeth Coppola, Josephine Coppola, and Alfred Del Corpo. Adeline graduated from Southern High School in South Philadelphia and soon after joined the World War II workforce efforts as a Rosie the Riveter at The Philadelphia Naval Base. She continued her career as editorial clerk and secretary for several federal government agencies at the Naval Base and other locations, along with managing the operations of her husband's business. Adeline was very active in the community, schools, and church while raising her five children with her husband. She was a long-time member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. She enjoyed dancing, Big Band and Frank Sinatra music genres, the theatre, and traveling. Most of all, Adeline loved to spend time with her husband, family, and friends at their beach house in Wildwood Crest, NJ. Adeline's beautiful smile, outgoing spirit, and enthusiasm for life will be missed.
