Agnes Petransky

March 11, 1936 — April 8, 2019

Agnes Ena "Eileen" "Mrs. P." Petransky, age 83, of Drexel Hill, and former longtime resident of Lansdowne, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Philadelphia to the late Joseph and Susan Conroy (nee Daly).

Beloved wife of the late William E. Petransky. Loving mother of Eileen Marie (Matthew) Quigley, William J. "Billy Joe" (Edith) Petransky, and Steven (Dolores) Petransky.

Devoted grandmother of Christopher, Billy, Zachary, Eric (Natalie), Hailey, Jake, and Julieanne Petransky, and Kyra and Matthew Quigley. Adoring great-grandmother of Ari James Petransky. Dear sister of Maureen Thayer and the late John, Joseph, Francis "Reds" Conroy, Elizabeth Fine, and William Conroy.

Eileen was a graduate of Notre Dame deLourdes High School, Moylan, PA and worked for Bell Telephone/Verizon for over 30 years, where she held many positions and was instrumental in helping many area young adults find a career.

Eileen and Bill raised their family in Lansdowne where she was everyone's second mom, took all the kids fishing and hiking, picnic lunch included, and was a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader. The Petransky back yard was the place to be, everyday.

She volunteered with the St. Charles Ladies Auxiliary and the Garrettford-Drexel Hill Fire House Ladies Auxiliary. She was an original member and coach of the Lansdowne Girls Club and number one fan of the Lansdowne Boys Club. Later, she was co-manager of Tony's Girls softball team in Collingdale. All of this prepared her to be the super fan for every grandchild, never missing a game or event.

Later in life she enjoyed traveling the world with family and friends, taking her whole family to Disney and Atlantis, and summers in Sea Isle City.

She loved to dance, sing, and enjoyed a good practical joke. The original "McGyver", she could fix anything with some tape and a paper clip.

Her music was country, usually Willie and the Boys, unless Jimmy Buffet was in town then the bus was loaded and it was "Fins up". Ag had an affection for black jelly beans, anything sweet, and a good Scotch.

She loved animals and Ag always made sure none that came near her left hungry.

She will be truly missed as a mom, a grandmom, a sister, a mentor, and a friend. She always made everyone welcome, and feel as though you belonged in her world.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Ag's life on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM and Wednesday April 17, 2019 from 9:00 to 10:15 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor.
