Albert Joseph Curatolo, Jr., 80, of West Chester, PA, passed away January 28, 2025 peacefully in his sleep at Riddle Hospital after a battle with pneumonia. Born March 27, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Albert Joseph, Sr., and Rita (nee Boyd) Curatolo. Albert was the beloved husband of Susan (nee Stodola) Curatolo; loving father of Sean Hegarty (Lisa), Albert J. Curatolo, III (Julie), and Caroline Epler (Seth); adoring grandfather of Alessandra Curatolo, Vincenzo Curatolo, and Caiden Epler; and dear brother of Rita Haigh ad Janice Scholtz (John). He will also be missed by his dog, Lola.
Albert was a man of many talents. He was an entrepreneur, dancer, salesman, and deal hunter extraordinaire. He never completed a full year of college and yet he built mailing machines that baffled even the most educated engineer. He created multiple successful businesses that are now continuing on through his son in law Seth. He was a survivor of stage 4 head and neck cancer, many car accidents, and endured a permanent feeding tube for the last 10 years; and yet he NEVER COMPLAINED. Doctors never thought he would make it past 60, yet alone to see him almost turn 81. The time we had with him was a miracle that baffled even the most educated doctors.
His favorite saying was “I’m not okay, but that’s okay.” He believed that his struggles “didn’t matter” because he knew that this life was a small moment compared to the time we will spend with our Heavenly Father. He was a spiritual giant and always took the opportunity to tell others that God loves them.
Albert loved the Philadelphia Eagles, quoting “Rocky,” laughing and watching a good movie with his family. He loved putting on his favorite music and dancing around the house, even when he didn’t feel good. He would put on pump up music, start dancing, and then head off to work. He will be greatly missed, forever loved, and his example will last forever. We know where he is and we know we will see him again.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life, 12:00 PM, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 721 Paxon Hollow Rd, Broomall, PA 19008. All are welcome who knew and loved him.
Flowers are welcome, as they will be donated after the service.
