Albert B. Thompson, Jr., 92, of Glen Mills, PA passed away, peacefully, surrounded by his family on January 20, 2016.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Albert was the beloved son of the late Albert B., Sr. and Teresa (Dwyer) Thompson.
Albert was a graduate of St. Thomas Moore and St. Joseph's College.
He served proudly in the US Army Air Force as a fighter pilot during World War II.
He was self-employed as the owner/operator of Thompson Carpet in the Kensington section of Philadelphia for 60 years until his retirement at the age of 87.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Ann T. (Meehan) Thompson.
He was the loving father of Marie T. Nowlan (Philip), Albert B. Thompson, III, Daniel J. Thompson (Elizabeth), Agnes L. Thompson, Joseph R. Thompson, Nancy Ann Schuster, Helen T. Kessler (Bruce), Theresa M. Thigpen (Dieter) and the late Michael J. Thompson; loving grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; dear brother of Helen Thompson, Dolores Zeller (late George), Marie Grady (Hugh), Bernard Thompson (Donna), James Thompson (Pam). Albert was pre-deceased by his twin brother Joseph.
