Alice B. Cousens (née Lucas), suddenly passed away on March 19, 2023 in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
Born in 1958 in Oceanside, NY, Alice was the daughter of Abbott H. and Alice C. (née Clune) Lucas.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), at Niagara University, and her Masters of Business (MBA) at Pace University.
Alice met her future husband, Charles J. Cousens Jr., while they were working together in Watertown, MA. In 1997, they were joined in marriage at St. Barbara’s Church, in Woburn, MA., in front of their families and many friends. In 2000 they relocated to West Chester, PA.
Alice ‘s professional life, both as a nurse and a biomedical professional, was grounded in making life better for others, through direct patient care and through medical research.
Alice was the loving mother of Scott C. Cousens and Nicole M. Cousens, whom she loved beyond measure; dear sister of Ron Lucas of Shelter Island, NY, Marilynn Apollo (Joe) of Southern Pines, NC, Gerard Lucas of Fort Collins, CO, Craig Lucas (Valerie) of Cary, NC, and Nancy Heck (Dan) of Fairfax, VA; and aunt to fourteen incredible nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Arlene M. Lucas, who died shortly after birth.
Alice loved to spend time with her immediate family and her huge, extended family, her loving Purple Eagles, many friends, colleagues, and of course the beloved dogs in her life, Hope, Brady, Bruschi and Tobin. She loved fiercely. If you were of the many she loved, you were family.
Family game nights and trivia were at the top of her favorite ways to spend time, along with reading, singing, shopping, traveling, and a good glass of Chardonnay.
