Andrea Lee Crawford (nee Coyle), "Andy" to her friends, born on December 16, 1942, passed away on August 27, 2016, two years after ALS began to take its toll on her strength.
Andy was born and raised in Upper Darby, eldest child of her parents, Edward H. Coyle, Jr. and Edith G. Coyle (nee Stagg). After graduation from Upper Darby High School, she graduated as a History and Education major from Penn State University and taught school at various levels. She then went on to attend Villanova University, earning a Master's degree in Counseling.
Andy later worked as a sales representative for Johnson and Johnson and Boots Pharmaceuticals, before opening her children's clothing shop, "Mes Petits Amis", in Paoli and Wayne.
After deciding to retire from her children's clothing shop, Andy devoted her time and herself to her family, with all 16 grandchildren living in close proximity, and to her work with Wayne Presbyterian Church, where she was a long-time Deacon and later an Elder. She was also the Chair of the Global Mission Committee for many years. She enjoyed being in Avalon on many weekends, residing in her "Bayside" condo with family members.
Andy is survived by her beloved husband, Fronefield Crawford Jr., her loving children Donald (Kristin) Bennyhoff, Jodi (John) Orr, and Dale (Nicole) Bennyhoff and her two stepchildren Fronefield (Jill) Crawford, III and Marguerite (John) Papiano. Her five children blessed her with 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, to all of whom she was simply their "Oma." She is also survived by her brother, Edward H. (Ted) Coyle, III and her former husband, George Bennyhoff.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service celebrating Andy's life on Saturday, September 10, 2016 11:00 AM Wayne Presbyterian Church, 125 E. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wayne Presbyterian Church Global Mission Fund at the above address in memory of Andy Crawford.
