Angela Testa

Angela M. Testa, born August 9, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA passed peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord on February 12, 2021.  She is preceded in death by her parents; Nicholas and Celeste (D’Alonso) DeCecco and her daughter Cheryl (Philip) Duca of Broomall, PA.  Angela is survived by her two children: Ronald (Jayne) Testa of Kettering, OH, and Loraine Testa of West Chester, PA, as well as her two siblings: Robert DeCecco, Sr. of Cape May, NJ and Marie Bobbitt of Havertown, PA.

Angela was also blessed with six grandchildren; Nicholas Testa, Alexander Testa, Philip Duca IV, Gianna Duca, Nikoleta Testa and Siena Testa, as well as two great-grandsons, Philip Duca V and Harvey Testa.  In addition, the family would also like to recognize the unwavering love and support of her lifetime friends, known as the “Club Girls.”

Angel was a loving and devoted mother, dedicated to teaching her children the values of faith, family and a fulfilling work life.  Angel’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially her six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.  She could always be counted on to offer a supportive word, a funny joke, or a silly game that would make everyone laugh.  She never missed singing “Happy Birthday” on each person’s special day no matter how far away they may be.

During her 40+ year career as a hairdresser, Angel served hundreds of loyal customers and mentored many hairdressers in her House-of-Angels and Hair 4 You Salons.   She was very active as an officer of the Delaware County Hairdresser’s Association.

Throughout her life, Angel enjoyed the outdoors, whether on the beach at the shore or in the garden with flowers.  She truly had a “green thumb” and donated many hours of her gardening skills in the various communities in which she lived.  Angel also served as a volunteer for local cancer care organizations, providing wigs and hair styling for patients undergoing chemotherapy.  As a 30-year member of SS Simon & Jude Parish, Angel volunteered in several ministries, including knitting hundreds of prayer shawls.

The family’s wish is that all who knew Angel remember her beautiful smile, her love of life, and her devotion to those she loved most dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 11:00 AM-12:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2021 at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by her Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. Interment private.
