Ann Azzara (née Battaglia), age 94, of Media, PA, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2022.
Born in New York, NY, Ann was the daughter of the late Dione and Mary (née Dellavale) Battaglia.
Ann grew up in the Greenwich Village section of New York. She was a graduate of New York University and was first employed as a dietician. She then became an educator, teaching both kindergarten and middle school children.
Ann loved to read, was fluent in Italian, and enjoyed poetry and writing. She took great pleasure in reading and learning new languages as well. Ann was a Frank Sinatra fan and loved listening to all his music. She was also an exceptional cook, just like her mother! Her most cherished time was time spent with her family and grandkids.
Ann was a beloved wife, wedded for 68 years to Nicholas Azzara and the loving mother of Jamie Malloy (Michael) and the late Robert Azzara. She was the devoted grandmother of Christofer (Alexandra), Nicholas, Michael, and Cara, and great-grandmother of Mason, Valentina, and Luca. She is predeceased by her brother, Thomas Foti.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Graveside Service, Friday, January 21, 2022, at 10:00 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
