Ann Emmons

d. June 12, 2017

Ann Raum Emmons, 100, of Newtown Square, PA passed away peacefully on June 12, 2017 at White Horse Village, where she was a resident for over 25 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1917, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Elva (nee Zindel) Raum. Ann was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and Temple University, where she received a bachelor degree in Music Education. She worked as a music teacher in the Haverford Township School District and taught piano privately. Ann followed up with a second career as a realtor with Prudential Fox & Roach and continued in this role into her 90s.

Ann's love of music continued at White Horse Village, where she participated in the Village Singers and served as an accompanist at vesper services. Ann was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church for over 50 years and sang in the church choir there. She loved animals, enjoyed flower arranging, and was an avid newspaper reader. Ann always remembered her family and friends' birthdays and sent them homemade cards. But most of all, she loved her beautiful family and enjoyed gathering them together for special occasions.

She was the beloved wife of the late French P. Emmons; loving mother of French A. Emmons, John R. Emmons (Winnie), and Joanne Wiggins (Brenton); devoted grandmother of Stephanie DiMarco (Matt), Sasha Emmons (Justin Oborne), Pat Emmons (Krista), Matt Wiggins (Diana), and Molly Wiggins; dear great-grandmother of Marguerite, Josie, and Sophia DiMarco, Chloe and Julian Oborne, and Cadel and Quinn Emmons; and predeceased by her brother John R. Raum, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at White Horse Village, 535 Gradyville Rd, Newtown Square, PA 19073.
