Ann Marie McIntyre, 75, of West Chester, PA passed away on March 12, 2023.
She is the beloved wife of Robert J. McIntyre, Jr. and the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (nee McGowan) Hesch.
Ann was born on June 22nd, 1947 in Philadelphia (at Misericordia Hospital, now Mercy Hospital). After graduating from Merion Mercy Academy in 1965, she completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Rosemont College in 1969, and her American Bar Association Paralegal Certificate from Villanova University in 1992.
Ann served as a tour guide at the Philadelphia Visitors Center and worked at the Provident Indemnity Life Insurance Company in her early working years. She then spent many years at home raising her four daughters. Later, she worked for Nabisco Foods Group, Hershey Chocolate, Verizon (Bell Atlantic Network Services) and then spent 17 years at Portnoff Law Associates as Office Manager and Paralegal Specialist before retiring in 2017.
Ann was a dedicated, caring, and supportive Mom to her four daughters and loving wife to her husband of almost 54 years. She loved creating family traditions, especially around birthdays, and passing those to the next generation. Ann cherished her role as Nana to her 12 grandchildren, and could often be found cheering them on at athletic fields or playing with them in the sand at her happy place, Avalon, New Jersey. For many years, Ann played competitive tennis and was always up for a long walk with her husband. She valued her time with friends, both old and new, including The Gourmet Group, Fernfield Circle, co-workers, and Hershey’s Mill. She also enjoyed regular lunches with her sister and Bob.
Ann was a wonder woman in our lives, a terrific wife, partner, best friend, Mom, Nana, peacemaker, true friend, loyal, caring, dependable and a problem solver. Her laughter was contagious. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives.
She is survived by her loving children Heather Miller (Tab), Kelley Wolfe (Tony), Megan Woods (Chris), and Katie Sweet (Ryan), her adoring sibling Eleanor Cahill (the late Jack), and her Sisters-in-law Rosemary McIntyre, MD and Helene McIntyre Wiessner (Mark). She was a beloved grandmother to Caitlin and Lyndsey Miller, Justin, Josie, Cullen and Vivienne Wolfe, Brennan, Annie, and Charlotte Woods, Logan, Parker, and Reagan Sweet. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life on Thursday, March 23, 2023 beginning with a visitation from 9:30AM – 11:00AM at Saints Peter and Paul Parish, 1325 E. Boot Road West Chester, PA 19380 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM.
