A graduate of Rider Business College in Trenton, NJ, she was employed as an administrative professional by the School District of Philadelphia until her retirement. She made her home in South Philadelphia then Havertown for many years and was an active member of St. Bernadette’s parish before moving to Newtown Square.
She was the loving wife of the late William G. McDonald for 53 years, her greatest joy was being the devoted mother of Ann Marie Thomas, (Harry) and Joseph William McDonald (Malonie). Anna is survived by 3 precious grandchildren to whom she was the essence of unconditional love, Peter W. Thomas (Kimberly) of Newtown Square, Harry P. Thomas, Jr. of Havertown and Jeffrey M. McDonald (Susan, RN) of Sellersville. Also survived by much-loved great-grandchildren Peter Thomas, Nicholas Thomas, Nicole Thomas Fiore and dear nieces and nephews who will miss her warm heart and generous spirit.
Her family is forever grateful to the staff of the Dunwoody Village Care Center for the dedicated care and support they provided.
Due to the Pandemic and concern for all, her funeral will be private. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Mrs. McDonald’s memory to Disabled American Veterans ( dav.org ) would be greatly appreciated.
