Anne B. Drummond, age 85, of Chester Springs, PA, passed away on Friday June 14, 2019. Born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Harry Bent & the late Mary (nee Snyder) Bent. Anne was a loving mother to her 3 children, John Dwyer, Christine Hartfield (late Richard) and the late Jeffery Dwyer as well a very loving grandmother to Emily Aiken. Anne was also the beloved sister to Sally Bent Adler and the late Peter Bent.
Anne attended the Agnes Irwin School, the Baldwin School and graduated from UVM with a degree in Animal Sciences. Her time spent in Vermont certainly instilled in her, a lifelong love for horses, especially the Morgan horse. She owned a Morgan horse breeding farm, Belspring Farm, in Hyde Park Vermont for many years.
Anne returned to Pennsylvania in 1973 and continued to run her farm. After some life changes, Anne and her daughter moved to Jamaica from 1978 to 1988. She again returned to Pennsylvania. She purchased her beloved farm, Briar Patch Farm in Chester Springs in 1993 where she remained for the rest of her life.
Anne enjoyed life! She was an avid foxhunter, having hunted with Bellwood, Pickering and Kimberton Hunt Clubs on her beautiful mare, Ladyslipper. She was active in the horse show world, having competed at local shows and many times at the Devon Horse Show. Her home was filled with many blue ribbons and memories of her amazing accomplishments with horses. Her later years were spent raising her other mare, Meet The Press (Lily) and enjoyed just going for a ride.
Anne loved her animals but she also had a deep love for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed and will always be remembered for her kind, soft spoken, gracious manner.
Services and Interment are private. A Life Celebration will be held at a later date at her beautiful farm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anne's name can be made to Chester County Foxhunters Association and Compassus Hospice.
