Anne d’Aquin Fernandez, age 74, of Drexel Hill, PA, formerly of Jackson, MS, and Houma, LA, passed away on May 5th, 2024. Born in New Orleans, LA, she was the daughter of the late Joachim Expedit and Georgina d’Aquin (nee Ortiz).
Anne's journey began at The Academy of Holy Angels in New Orleans, where she graduated in 1967, setting the foundation for her remarkable career in Critical Care Nursing. Over the years, she touched countless lives with her compassion and unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.
Apart from her professional life, Anne was known for her avid love of literature, with a particular fondness for Tony Hillerman novels. She also exuded passion for sports, being a devoted Philadelphia Phillies fan who always cheered with gusto for her favorite team.
Anne was the beloved wife of Bernard J. Fernandez Jr.; loving mother of Randall (Mary), Kevin (Natalia), Melanie, and Amy (Tom Coffman); adoring grandmother of Bonnie Hill, Amanda Stabenow, Craig Basciano Jr., Zoe LeDoux, Gavin Fernandez, Paul Fernandez, Daniel Fernandez, and Lauren Fernandez; caring sister of Marie Lourdes Rome, Gerard d'Aquin, and the late Jude and Charles d’Aquin.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 12th, 2024 and 8:30 - 10:00 AM on Monday, May 13th at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Ln., Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Interment will be at a later date. Please wear colorful clothing to Anne's services to honor her memory.
