Annie Theresa "Dolly" Whinnery, 90, of Yeadon, PA formerly of Lansdowne, PA passed away on November 23, 2016.
Born in Belfast, Ireland in 1926, she was the daughter of the late James and Ellen (nee MacWilliams) Kelly. Anne enjoyed going to the casino, garage sales, and playing the lottery. She was a homeroom mom and a waitress at Richetti's Springfield Inn Restaurant for over 25 years. Anne loved to read, shop, knit, sew, sing, dance, and always had a smile for those she met. Her Catholic faith and family were the most important parts of her life.
She was the beloved wife of the late Hugh Whinnery; loving mother of Ellen Mary "Eleanor" McKeown (Brian), James A. Whinnery, John P. "Sean" Whinnery (Lisa), Hugh G. Whinnery (Nancy), Joseph P. Whinnery (Kim), and Theresa Citrenbaum (Michael); loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; predeceased by her siblings Billy, Gerard, Tony, Sarah, Philomena, James, Maggie, Andy, Nellie, John, and Paddy.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, 610-449-0300 and to her Funeral Mass 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Philomena Church, 41 E. Baltimore Ave, Lansdowne, PA 19050. Interment Valley Forge Memorial Gardens.
