Anthony J. Day (Tony), age 86, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on July 10, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Edmund and Eleanor Day (nee Gallagher). Tony Day was a teacher in the Philadelphia School District for over 30 years.
He was predeceased by his siblings Edmund, Hugh, Charles and Marie (Eleanor Therese, SSJ). He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann P. Day (nee Flynn), his loving children Mary Flynn-Day (Tim Smith), Anthony Day, Jr. (Joan), Francis Day (Rose), Nancy Day-Gavin (Thomas), Katherine Day (Lynn Fonfa), Clare Day (Ralph Zickgraf), Eleanor Day (Joseph Black) and Edward Day. Also survived by his grandchildren Charlotte, Gabriel, Tom, Matt, Allison, Mike, Brendan, Tim, Roseann, Hannah, Tulia, Hazel and Jake, 9 great-grandchildren and his sisters Eleanor McGowan and Jane Day, SSJ (Sr Assisium).
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Monday, July 17, 2017 9:00-11:00 AM at Holy Child Church at Our Lady of Hope Parish (formerly Holy Child Parish), 5200 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19141 and to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
