Anthony Fortunato

May 11, 1954 — June 28, 2018

Anthony J. "Tony" Fortunato, age 64, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on June 28, 2018. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony N. and Louise Fortunato (nee Vizzarri).

Tony was employed as a Regional Sales Manager for Pierce-Phelps in Blue Bell.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Mary D. Fortunato (nee Jupin), his loving children Stephanie E., Joseph M., Robert A. and Veronica M. Fortunato and his 2 sisters.

Tony Fortunato was a much-loved and devoted husband, father, and friend. Tony was born on May 11, 1954 in Bryn Mawr and grew up in Ardmore. He attended Archbishop Carroll High School and Villanova University. He worked as a sales manager in the HVAC business for most of his adult career. He was an incredibly driven and conscientious man, and continued working despite his trials with his health. He was proud to have been able to continue to provide for his family. He exuded a certain presence, being over 6 feet tall, but was truly a kind, patient, and gentle soul. He truly modeled what it means to be a husband, a father, and a friend every day he graced this world with his presence.

If you know Tony then you knew that he was, above all else, a lover and collector of trains and toy models. If you grew up in our house, you remember fondly that there was always a train under the Christmas tree, and many more throughout the house. He enjoyed tinkering with them, finding new engines and cars to acquire, and remembering the good old days when Lionel trains were a most treasured possession. Tony also loved his guitars and motorcycles, and highly enjoyed time away at the beach.

Besides his human family, Tony is survived by a few furry grand-pets: Pete, Merlin, Sophie, Louie, Laddie, and Addie.

Tony will forever be remembered as a strong and courageous man. He never faltered when times were tough, and he gave endlessly so that his family wanted for nothing. We know that he is now our angel, making sure that we find the strength to continue to live life fully.
