Antonio "Tony" Gingras

Antonio T. “Tony” Gingras, 92, of West Chester, PA, passed away on April 26, 2020.

Born in Berlin, NH in 1927, Tony was the son of the late Adalbert and Alice (nee Rosseau) Gingras.

Tony served honorably in the US Army. After his discharge from the Army in 1947, he moved to Philadelphia, where he attended the Spring Garden Institute for electrical work. It was while living there, he met his future wife, Marie. He then worked for General Electric until his retirement.

Tony was a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Cardinal Dougherty Assembly and a member of the Mater Dei Council 4129 Knights of Columbus, Newtown Square, PA, where he enjoyed playing cards and running casino trips. He was an avid football fan, especially the Philadelphia Eagles, and a master of the Jumble Word Scramble in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

After retirement, Tony went to the Restaurant Culinary School and became “the best cook in the house.” He and his wife loved traveling the world and enjoyed visiting many countries.

Tony was the beloved husband of the late Marie (nee Moroni) Gingras; loving father of Annette Barone (Luke), Diane Colburn (the late Walter E., Jr.), and Paul Gingras (Marcella); dear brother of Angeline Sweet (the late Raymond); also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Doris Gingras and Madeline Adams (Gordon).

Services and interment are private.
