Arlene Brooke

March 19, 1933 — October 4, 2017

ARLENE "Ar" G. BROOKE (nee Smith), 84, of Glen Mills and formerly of Ridley Township, passed away, peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on October 4, 2017.



Born in 1933 in Norristown, PA, Arlene was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Wilda (Shainline) Smith.



She was predeceased by her 1st husband, E. Daniel Greim, Jr. and also by her 2nd husband, Marvin C. Brooke.



Arlene was the loving mother of Bryan Greim, Bruce Greim (Dionne) and Barry Greim; loving step-mother of Patrick Brooke, Kathy Brooke and the late Christopher Brooke; devoted grandmother of 6 grandchildren; dear sister of the late Dorothy White and Dr. C. Wayne Smith, and loving aunt of her beloved nieces and nephews.



She was a 1955 graduate of Penn State University and was a proud supporter of the Alumnae Association. She worked as a Special Education Teacher in the Ridley Township School District.



Arlene was a resident of Maris Grove Retirement Community and a longtime member of the Concord Liberty Presbyterian Church.



She enjoyed tennis, singing, reading books and fellowship. She loved the Bee Hive in Bradford County.



Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 7:00-9:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2017 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000 and 9:00-10:00 Saturday at Concord Liberty Presbyterian Church, 256 Bethel Rd, Glen Mills, PA 19342, followed by her Funeral Service 10:00 AM. Int. Cumberland Cem, Lima, PA.



Memorial contributions are requested to The American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 or to the Concord Liberty Presbyterian Church at the above address.
