Arthur J. (Jack) Parsons, Jr., passed away peacefully at his home on December 12, 2023.
Born and raised in Upper Darby, PA, Jack stayed close to his hometown throughout his life and was a resident of Drexel Hill, West Chester, and, most recently, Malvern, PA.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Judith (née DeFino); his loving children, Elizabeth Hanna (Jeffrey), Pamela Messaros, and John Parsons (Cathleen); his adoring seven grandchildren, Megan, Robert, Erin, Colleen, Amanda, Ryan, and Sean; as well as his three great grandchildren, Vincenzo, Cameron, and Hudson. Jack is also survived by his sister, Karen Fritschel (Larry), his sister- in- law, Josephine Parsons; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur John, Sr., and Charlotte (née Kresse) Parsons; as well as his brother, Theodore Parsons.
Jack’s early years were richly formed at his beloved Alma Maters, Friends Central School and Lycoming College, where he was a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity. As a student, he developed his passion for history, love for reading, and an interest in giving back.
Jack served his community as a proud volunteer firefighter at the Highland Park Fire Company. He also founded his own company, Parsons Associates, where he spent his career as a respected manufacturers’ representative in the glass and glazing industry.
In his leisure time, Jack enjoyed many years playing golf at Rolling Green Golf Club and traveling to his favorite Jersey shore spots, as well as Saint Martin. He was an avid college wrestling fan and faithfully followed the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, and, above all, Penn State football. He was always sure to give a Penn State “We Are!” shoutout whenever he had the chance.
Everywhere he went, Jack was the life of the party. Friends and family alike looked forward to his camaraderie by listening to his stories and jokes, embracing his “Jack-isms,” and simply spending time with him. Amidst it all, his family brought Jack his greatest joy. He gifted many a lifetime of treasured memories of a man who will be deeply missed, but never forgotten, by all those who loved him.
