Barbara C. Mueller (nee Christie), 86, of Upper Providence, PA, passed away on December 15, 2016.
Born in 1930 in Pontiac, MI, Barbara was the daughter of the late Edward A. Christie, M.D. and Juanita (nee Martin) Christie. Beloved wife of the late Harold P. "Buck" Mueller, Jr. with whom she shared fifty-six years of marriage. She was the beloved sister of the late Virginia Bronsing, Edward Christie and Juanita Stanford. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, David Paul Mueller. She is survived by her children Michael P. (Janet) of Wilmington, NC, Harold P. "Bob" (Patricia) of Ambler, PA, Thomas P. of Durham, NC, Daniel P. (Arlene) of Ephrata, PA, and Barbara M. (Stephen Weyler) of Upper Providence, PA, with whom she resided, and eleven grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Eschler, Michael Mueller, Brian Mueller (Greta), Beth Mueller (Daniel Sloan), Stephen, James and Barbara Weyler, and Amanda, Daniel Buck and Luke Mueller.
Barbara grew up in Bloomfield Hills, MI where she attended The Convent of the Sacred Heart School and Mount St. Joseph University. She married Buck in 1949 and immediately started a family in Toledo, Ohio. Her husband's work would take the family to Havertown, PA, Mobile, AL and Upper Providence, PA where she raised her family. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Barbara volunteered at her children's schools, including St. Mary Magdalen School, as a librarian, forensics coach, lunch monitor, scout leader and host of the annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. At Archmere Academy, she co-chaired the Hospitality Committee and she was a member of the Springton Lake Garden Club. She was an avid gardener, flower arranger, and artist, but most of all, supporter of and cheerleader for her children.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing 9:30-10:20 AM Saturday, December 17, 2016 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Road, Media, PA., followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Int. SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made St. Mary Magdalen School, 2430 N. Providence Road, Media, PA 19063 to support the School's Library, Art Department and Faculty Development.
