Barbara F. Nessel

Barbara Frazier Nessel, age 89, of West Chester, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

Born in Drexel Hill, PA in 1934, she was the daughter of the late John Hugh and Minnie Alice (nee Smith) Frazier. Barbara was a 1952 graduate of Upper Darby High School. She was a proud member of the National Honor Society; active in the school’s choral groups, newspaper, and yearbook committee; and helped coordinate the class’s many reunions over the years. 

Barbara, or “Bobbie” as she was known to most, worked as an administrative assistant and a real estate agent. She was a charter member of Advent Lutheran Church, Westtown, PA, and a prior member of Calvary Lutheran Church, West Chester, PA. She sang in the church choirs at both churches and served as vice president of the Church Council for many years. Barbara proudly volunteered at The Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA. She enjoyed watching cooking shows, reading, and spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors.

Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Leon Nessel; loving mother of Kimberly Peed (William), Jeffrey Pusey (Catherine), Stephen Nessel (James), and the late Scott Nessel; predeceased by her six siblings; also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382 followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA.
