Bartholomew Bitterman

October 2, 1985 — July 1, 2016

Born on October 2, 1985, Bart passed from this world unexpectedly on July 1, 2016. Bart lived in Chappaqua, NY for 8 months until moving to Radnor PA in 1986. He would remain a resident of Radnor his entire life. He attended Ithan Elementary, The Radnor Middle School, Haverford School, and Radnor High School. He also attended Washington College.



While at Haverford and Radnor HS, he was known as a talented and tenacious ice hockey player, and was an integral part of the Radnor team which won the 2003 and 2004 PA State Championships.



Bart was married to the love of his life, Elizabeth Kolodner Bitterman. He is also survived by his parents, Robert J. and Renee Cleary Bitterman of Villanova, his sister, Gretchen Gerrow (Mike) of Wayne, his brother Robert J. Bitterman Jr (Lucy) of Philadelphia, his sister Meredith Bitterman of Manayunk, his nephew and nieces, Michael, Grace and Anna Gerrow of Wayne, his wife's parents Harvey and Elinore O'Neill Kolodner of Philadelphia, and many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him deeply. Bart will be remembered as a great friend.



He would share all that he had and took in anyone who needed a place to stay. He was funny and loving. He also held Family and The Flyers as the most important elements in his life. He will always be remembered by those whose lives he touched.



Visitation with the family will take place Wednesday evening, July 6th at Donohue Funeral Home, 366 W Lancaster Ave, Wayne PA from 5:30 to 9 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday July 7th at 10:30 AM at St. John Neumann Church, Radnor Rd and Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, followed by Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken, PA.
