Bernard Michel Marie Ledieu, of Newtown Square, passed away on July 24 of Alzheimer’s Disease.
He was born in Paris in 1941, to the late Jacques Pierre Emile Ledieu and Jeanne Victoire Ledieu (née Blatt).
He is survived by his loving wife Susan Ledieu (née Day) and his children Carolyn Jeanne, Eric Thomson (Holly) and Emilie Christine. He will be missed by his loving grandchildren Caleb, Nicholas, Madeleine, Oliver and his great-grandchild, Elijah.
Bernard attended l’Université de Paris, majoring in Economics. As a software marketing executive at Burroughs/Unisys Corporation, J & B Software and A2iiA, he was able to pursue his dream of seeing the world.
Bernard was a member of many organizations including the Philippe Caillard Chorale, l’Ensemble Vocal Gerard George in Paris, l’Association des Anciens du College St. Clement in Metz, and The Union League of Philadelphia.
A lover of classical music and choral singing, he was a cantor and choir member at St. Thomas of Villanova.
Bernard enjoyed family vacations and traveled extensively. His favorite activity was hiking in the mountains, especially in the French Alps.
Friends and Family are invited to his Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, July 30th at St. Thomas of Villanova (Main Campus) followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM in the church. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed at https://vimeo.com/donohuefuneralhome
Following the services, everyone is invited to a luncheon at the Springfield Country Club in the Fairway room.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org would be appreciated.
