Bernard Snyder

Bernard J. "Bernie" Snyder, age 78, of Springfield, PA, formerly of the Schuylkill section of Philadelphia, passed away on March 1, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the loving and devoted son of the late Bernard A. and Mae R. Snyder (nee Morris). He was a 1956 graduate of Southeast Catholic High School.



He served in the United States Army. He was employed with Conrail and retired in 1999 after 46 years of service.



Bernie's love for his family and his sense of humor were his trademarks. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren in Cape May and attending their sporting events.



In addition to his parents, Bernie was predeceased by his daughter Sharon Rose Snyder, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Joseph and Gertrude Lindsay and his sister-in-law Elise O'Donnell (Bob). He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan M. Snyder (nee Lindsay), his children Bernard J. Snyder, Jr. (Christine), Patricia Coney (David) and Steven M. Snyder (dear friend Kristyn), his grandchildren Evan, Cole, Gerard, Alanah and Michael, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joseph and Chris Lindsay, and many loving nieces and nephews.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Monday, March 7, 2016 9:30-10:50 AM St. Eugene Church, 200 S. Oak Avenue, Primos, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment is private.
