Betty Cockerham

Betty L. Cockerham of Downingtown Betty L. Cockerham (nee Simes), 61, of Downingtown passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 1, 2013. Born in West Chester in 1952, Betty was the daughter of Annabelle M. (Wynn) and Clifford J. Simes, Sr., both deceased. She was also predeceased by her sister, Cindy L. Diehl. She was the beloved wife of James G. Cockerham; loving mother of Alan F. Cockerham (Ellen) and Rachel A. Bilger (Gerald); dear grandmother of Samantha, Emily, Taylor, Casey and Rebecca; and great-grandmother of Matthew, Jacob and Carter. She is also survived by her siblings, Ann M. Rhodes, Clifford J. Simes, Jr., Richard A. Simes and Barry L. Simes. Betty was a graduate of Conestoga High School. She was a devoted wife and her passion was raising her children. She was an animal lover and enjoyed wildlife. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, immediately followed by her Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Ave, Downingtown, PA, 19335; 610-269-3080. Interment will be at Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery.
