West Chester

Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Malinaric (née Meyer), 87, of West Chester, PA

No married couple could ever be described as One better than Betty and Rich Malinaric. If you knew Betty, you knew Rich. Betty was the light, life and delight of her husband Richard. He was her absolute favorite person in the whole world. He adored her from the moment he first saw her until the last two kisses goodbye. After 65 years and 208 days of marriage, she passed from life with Rich to her Lord and Savior entering her heavenly home on February 4, 2025.

The love story of Betty and Rich began in Pittsburgh. They moved several times, growing from a family of two to a family of seven by adding five children in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Beloved as a wonderful mother to their children, Pam (Mike), Dan (Miriam), Laura (Roger), Tom (Mary), Amy (Mike). Betty was the favorite person of many people she met. She was smart, caring, compassionate, fiercely independent and loyal. She was always there for family and friends going out of her way to help those she knew.

After raising their children together properly as Pittsburgh Steeler fans, they spent 40 years living in Iowa and traveling throughout the country visiting their family and friends. Along the way visiting each new grandchild as they were born. There are12 grandchildren: Matt (Meghan), Jonathan (Chelsea), David (Amanda), Jamie (Corey), Joshua, Thomas (Kaitlyn), Jenny (Tim), Noelle (Alberto), Megan (Carlin), Nick (Alisa), Scott (Katie) and Chrissie (Mark); 17 great grandchildren: Ethan, Carson, Chloe, Jack, Eve, Elle, Isla, Elijah, Logan, Wyatt, Levi, Jackson, Gabriel, Blake, Julianne, Brooklyn, and Quinn. They traveled the country by minivan, seeing all 50 states, only Alaska and Hawaii by plane.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Viola and 7 siblings: survived by 4 siblings David, Bill, Judy and Fran and numerous nieces and nephews. Surrounded by her family, she said her heart was full of joy and “Jesus told me they will miss me, but He was taking me to a much better place”. She will be deeply and dearly missed by us all.

Private family ceremony will be held.
