Betty Phelan (nee Trout), 95, of West Chester passed away on February 23, 2017.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1921, she was the beloved daughter of the late Mary and Winfield Scott Trout.
During the war, Betty worked for GE and then for Pennsylvania Railroad (later Conrail) for 25 years until her retirement in 1982.
Betty lived in Lansdowne, PA until 1996 when she moved to West Chester, PA. She was well known for her lovely flower arrangements, wreaths and sense of humor. She was kind and generous to family, friends and strangers alike.
She was the beloved wife of the late John Phelan from 1970 until his death; loving mother of David Trout Renard (Joanne) and Cynthia R. Shoyer (Curt); loving grandmother of Edward Roberts, Elizabeth Roberts, Matthew Phelan, Brad Shoyer and Emily Gonzalez; and great-grandmother of Gabe, Lily, Alex, Violet and Ivy.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family 10:30-11:00 AM Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Church of the Holy Trinity Church, 212 South High Street, West Chester, PA 19382 followed by her Memorial Service 11:00 AM. Interment Private. Luncheon to follow in church hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Friday Night Supper Program, C/O Church of the Holy Trinity Church at the above address.
