Bharathiamma K. Nair

Bharathiamma “Bharathi” Nair passed away suddenly and peacefully, at home, on April 20, 2024.   

Bharathi was a loving wife, mother, and doting grandmother.  She leaves behind her beloved husband of almost 60 years Ramachandran Nair, her children Anita Nair-Hartman (Keith Hartman), Ajai Nair (Kathy) and her adored grandchildren Robert Hartman, Maya Hartman and Leila Nair and her loving sister Chempakutty Nair, as well as many other beloved family and lifelong friends. 

Bharathi worked as a nurse at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center for much of her career, but she dedicated her life to the care of her family. She was known for her love of her grandchildren, gardening and cooking delicious food and catering to her husband and family. She will be remembered for being an “Amma/Grammy” to not just her family, but the extended community of people she thought needed a grandmother. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082.  To honor her wishes, the casket will be closed for Visitation. Services will begin promptly at 11:00 AM followed by her cremation.
