Bruce R. Koegler, age 85, passed away July 3, 2023. Beloved son of the late John H. Koegler and Claire (nee Sparmaker) Koegler and beloved brother of the late John T. Koegler.
Bruce was survived by his sister-in-law Joanne Koegler; nieces and nephews, Amy (Michael), Kathleen (Darin), Michael Paul, John Patrick (Alicia) and great nieces and nephews, Andrew, Harrison, Eliana, John and Luella.
Bruce was born in Philadelphia, PA. He was a graduate of LaSalle College High School (‘55) and LaSalle College (‘59). He was an avid supporter of both schools. He cherished his lifelong school friends.
He would spend much time in Beach Haven, LBI and enjoyed fishing on his Dad’s boat. He loved when family and friends came to visit in Beach Haven. He continued to be an avid supporter of the Beach Haven Junior Mates Program every summer.
Bruce was career Air Force for over 30 years and loved serving his country. He was a flight engineer on C-130s in the later part of his service.
His fellow airmen became his family and he cherished them until his final day. He was part of 913th Air Lift Wing and the 327th Air Lift Squadron. He retired in 1993 as Master Sergeant after serving in Desert Storm.
Bruce cherished his family (which includes his LaSalle family and his Air Force family), friends and the church. He was the epitome of a gentleman and a Christian. He had the kindest heart and most generous soul.
Bruce’s stories of traveling the world with the Air Force, Beach Haven, family, friends, working at his father’s car dealership, and chicken soup will be missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 128 Bryn Mawr Ave, Bala Cynwyd, PA from 9:30 Am to 10:30 AM following his funeral mass at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow mass at Laurel Hill West, 225 Belmont Ave, Bala Cynwyd, PA. There will be a luncheon following Interment at Evivva Restaurant, 1236 Montgomery Ave., Narberth, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude’s Research Hospital – stjude.org would be appreciated.
