Carol Ann Theis (nee Gannotti), 68, of West Chester, PA and formerly of East Lansdowne, PA, passed away on March 7, 2018 after an almost six-year battle with cancer.
She was the beloved wife of Bruce W. Theis; cherished daughter of Marie and the late Valentino Gannotti; loving mother of Nicole T. Wagner (Jon) and Jessica T. Castle (Mark); devoted grandmother of Naomi, Preston, and Cooper; dear sister of Donna Daltry (David), Valerie Palmieri (Jerome), Regina Cirio (Tony), and Mimi Colaprete (John).
Carol attended St. Cyril of Alexandria School in East Lansdowne, PA and graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in 1967. She also attended West Chester University where she studied Mathematics. Carol had a passion for computers and technology and put that interest to work at The Agnes Irwin School for almost 28 years. She began her career at AIS in the Development Office in 1987 and her job evolved over the years in include database management, phone systems and network administration. While there, she made many life-long friends and retired in 2015.
In her leisure time, Carol loved to cross-stitch and was an avid reader. She occasionally completed sample cross-stitch projects for her local cross-stitch shop, and she never shied away from complex patterns. She also loved to teach others how to cross-stitch and many of her friends have picked up the hobby after being inspired by her work.
Carol was also very involved in her church, St. Agnes in West Chester, PA. She loved to crochet prayer shawls to be given to the sick. She also volunteered on a mission trip to Mississippi after hurricane Katrina to help rebuild homes destroyed by the storm.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 5-7 PM Sunday, March 11, 2018 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000 and 9-9:45 AM Monday at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay Street, West Chester, PA 19380 followed by her Funeral Mass 10 AM. Interment following at St. Agnes Cemetery.
