October 9, 1940 — March 5, 2021

Carol Ann "Cubbie" Connell, age 80, passed into eternal life on Friday, March 5, 2021.

Cubbie was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Havertown, PA. She attended St. Denis Grade School and Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA where she graduated in 1958.  She bought a home in Lansdowne, PA in 1979 and lived there the rest of her life.

Cubbie was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad/Conrail for over 35 years and retired in 1995.

She was very active socially. For many years, she served as the Vice President of the “Laurentians”, a senior citizens charitable/social group of Upper Darby, PA.  Mostly, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family and was especially close to all her nieces and nephews. Cubbie loved to travel and host parties for her friends and family. She maintained close friendships with a group of girlfriends who met monthly for dinners in Chinatown. They called themselves the “china dolls”.

Cubbie was the daughter of the late David and Dorothy Connell, stepdaughter of Catherine Connell, and sister of David (Pat), Francis (Catherine) and Michael (Maggie).

She was the beloved aunt of Laurie Monastero (Mike), Carol, David (Jennifer), Stephen (Patty), Scott (Nikki), the late Jeffrey, Patrick (Fiancee Sarah), Jason, Brendan (Courtney), Katherine, and the great aunt of 13.

Due to the current pandemic, services and interment will be held privately, limited to immediate family. Relatives and friends are invited to view the Funeral Mass on The Donohue Funeral Home Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/thedonohuefuneralhome/ at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 11, 2021.  A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date to be announced.
