Caroline "Carrie" Hotz Sturm, of Conshohocken, PA, passed away suddenly in her sleep on April 25, 2015. Carrie was the beloved wife of Quentin and stepmother to Quentin III, Melissa, Dan and Kelsey.
Born in Abington, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Louise (Marshall) Hotz and the late Leonard Hotz. Also survived by sisters Catherine Kasparian (Fredrick) and Ellen Killian (Ron) and brothers Peter (Allyson) & Tom Hotz (Christine). She was a "Super-Aunt" to her many nieces and nephews, and is also survived by loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She cherished her dear friends, especially Carol, Alison and Janet.
Caroline received her undergraduate degree from Bridgewater State College and her Master's degree from Stonehill College in Massachusetts. With her special love for children, she had a fulfilling career in early childhood education. Her most recent position was at the Tarleton School in Berwyn. She gave her unconditional love to her "children" at Tarleton and was always there for them when they needed her. Her collection of children's literature will be donated to the children's library at Tarleton, which will be dedicated and named in her honor.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. David's Church, 763 S. Valley Forge Road, Radnor, PA on Saturday, May 2nd at 11:00 a.m., with burial immediately following in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m.
Carrie's personality instantly lit up a room, and it was commonly known that she was crazy about children and dogs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Tarleton Fund (contact Barbara Smith: Barbara@tarletonschool.com) or the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue (www.dvgrr.org/donate).
