Catherine Ciliberti

Catherine Ciliberti (nee Wanielista), 102, was granted her angel wings on December 1, 2020. She was the wife of the late James Ciliberti with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.

Dear mother of Joanna Johnston (Earl), Joy DeLuca (John), Marlene Vitullo (Tony), Jim Ciliberti, Jr. (Marian), and Kathleen Ciliberti who lovingly cared for mom at home. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Catherine grew up surrounded by her loving family. Her sisters, the late Sophie Pappas, the late Helen Yotsko, and her beloved brother Michael Wanielista.

Catherine genuinely loved her family, friends, and life, and they in turn were able to express their love for her in celebrating her 100th birthday. What great memories for all of us. Catherine enjoyed dancing, tending to her flower gardens, and going to the Atlantic City Casinos. Her favorite of all was the tool box she received as a Christmas gift. She renovated her basement ceiling, cabinets, flooring, and lighting. Also wallpapered the whole house. Her home was her pride and joy.

When she retired from the Reading Terminal, she volunteered for the Broomall Chapter of Deborah Hospital. She also worked for 3 years at McCall Field & Conference Center in many capacities.

Catherine will be greatly missed and remembered by the enormous number of people whose lives she impacted.

Relatives are invited to Catherine’s Funeral Mass on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 6315 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19151.  A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at a later date.  Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

Masks are to be worn to the Funeral Mass and Cemetery.   Social distancing is to be observed.
