CATHLEEN L. NOONE (nee Loughran), 88, of Lima Estates, Media and formerly of Paoli, PA passed away on November 2, 2018.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1930, she was the beloved daughter of the late George and Irene (Toomey) Loughran.
As early as first grade, Cathleen would do art for class bulletin boards. This talent followed her for years through grade school, high school and college where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from Rosemont College.
Schooling included the Fleischer Institute, Junto and Manayunk Art Center. All of this during decades working for a local regional bank and living in Mexico for 10 years.
Art has always been important to her and projects ranged from drawing, coloring and creating greeting and Christmas cards; doing paperwork for the bank and three dimensional projects of 8 x 5 feet for social functions, dances and theater props. Mediums included oils; poster paint, artist markers or paper fabrics, insulation board and art boards. Works cab be found in Mexico City, Florida, Texas, Delaware and Pennsylvania.
Over the last 15 years she has belonged to "Art Goes to School" in the Great Valley School District in Pennsylvania and the art groups at Daylesford Abbey where 15 drawings of the "Stations of the Cross" hang in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
Time marches on but her love of art and the different applications continue to be a challenge and a joy.
Beloved wife of the late Francis M. Noone; dear sister of the late Ellen Kurzeknabe; sister-in-law of Louis Kurzeknabe; loving aunt of Frank Kurzeknabe, Mary Ellen Otto, Cathy Acosta and Joanne Kurzeknabe.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 1:00-1:30 PM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Daylesford Abbey, 220 S Valley Rd, Paoli, PA 19301 followed by her Funeral Mass 1:30 PM. Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Daylesford Abbey at the above address or to Little Flower High School, 1000 W Lycoming St, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
