Charles D. Barksdale

Charles D. Barksdale, age 88, of Lansdowne, PA, passed away on December 23, 2022.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, Charles was the son of the late William G. and Helen R. Barksdale (nee Mitchell). 

Charles was a 1952 graduate of Upper Darby High School.   Charles had been the  Vice President and owner of Barksdale Studios in Lansdowne, PA.  He had served in the US Navy from August 8, 1952 to July 29, 1955

Charles loved watching horseracing at various tracks, riding motorcycles, going to Atlantic City NJ and Chester Pa casinos. He also enjoyed drawing and etching horses and people.

Charles was the beloved husband of the late Theresa M. Barksdale (nee Maloney).  He is survived by his loving children Nora Russel (Richard), Bernadette “Bun” Sweeney Thorpe (“Gene”) and Charles Barksdale, Jr. (Donna).  Brother of John Barksdale and the late William Barksdale, Robert “Bob” Barksdale and Patricia Webberking.  Also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
