Charles B. Capaldi, age 92, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on September 20, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Capaldi and Anna (Furia) and a sister Florence DePalma.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Diana, and children Gail Capaldi (Alan Mushnick), Charles A. Capaldi (Christine Bolender), Barbara A. Capaldi and Sean Lovison (Katherine). Grandfather of Juliana, Adrianne and Livia Capaldi, Ariana Mushnick, Zoe and Lydia Lovison and Ashley and Justin Mushnick. He is also survived by his first wife, Barbara.
He was a veteran of World War II, flying 30 combat missions as a waist gunner on a B-17 with the Eighth Air Force, 306th Bomb Group. He was awarded the Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters. He was a member of American Legion Post 667 of Havertown, PA.
Charles was a graduate of Cheyney University where he received the Leonard Morse Award of Merit. He taught Industrial Arts for many years in New Jersey, Philadelphia and Upper Darby. He also was a volunteer at the Greenfield School in Philadelphia.
Service and Interment are private.
