Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Patrick and Mary Doherty (nee McCullough).
Charles was a graduate of St. Thomas More High School in Philadelphia.
He was employed as a Sales Representative for 3M.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife Marlene Doherty (nee Dunn) and his loving children Charles J. Doherty (Kathleen), Patricia A. Gudmundsen (Daniel), Susan Egan (John), Stephen D. Doherty (Rose) and Denise Jamieson (Tom). Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and his brother James Doherty (Phyllis).
