Charles “Charlie” J. James, 80, died August 24, 2022 at his home in Havertown, Pennsylvania.
Born on October 23, 1941 to Jane (McNulty) and Charles W. James, Charlie attended Monsignor Bonner High School and was a lifelong dedicated member of the Catholic Church. As a man of great faith and unwavering positivity, he brought love and light to every situation he was met with. Having worked an array of odd jobs in his youth, he was an “expert” on everything from car maintenance to real estate and electrical work.
Charlie spent 10 years as a Seaman in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve but ultimately found his real home at Boeing where he spent 30 years working as a Production Controller.
Charlie was predeceased by his loving parents and his faithful companion, his dog, Parker.
To know Charlie was to love him. He was easy-going and had an uncanny ability to roll with the punches. He was always there to lend an ear, a word of advice, or tell a joke.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his loving wife of 40 years, Denise; son, Kevin; daughter, Kelly (Luke) Wiles; granddaughters, Quinn and Sloane; sister, Helen Soltis (Drew); brother Robert (Debbie) James; and lifelong friends: Robert Heppler, Dickie Phelps and Jack Conaway. He will likely also be missed by the Llanerch Diner where he regularly purchased obscene amounts of cheesecake slices.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 9:30-10:30 AM Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, 105 Wilson Ave, Havertown, PA 19083 followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cenetery.
Memorial contributions are requested to Blessed Virgin Mary Parish Food Bank, 1101 Main Street, Darby, PA 19023.
