Charles V. Morgan, a beloved figure and an esteemed member of his community, passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 87. Charles lived a life dedicated to service, both to his country and to the many individuals he encountered throughout his journey.
Born in Philadelphia, Charles was the loving husband of Rosalie Foti Morgan.
A proud graduate of Saint Joseph's Preparatory High School, Charles was known for his athletic prowess, being a proud member of the first championship rowing team at the institution, a team that ultimately secured a total of four championships in its first year as a school team.
Charles went on to graduate from St. Joseph’s University and his professional career was grounded in public service, where he spent many years as a Housing Specialist with the United States Federal Government at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
In addition to his professional accomplishments, he proudly served his country for 26 years in the United States Navy, culminating in his retirement as a Commander. His military service was characterized by honor and devotion, traits that earned him respect from both peers and subordinates alike.
Beyond his professional and academic accomplishments, Charles was known for his loving and empathetic personality. He often went out of his way to help those in need, embodying the spirit of generosity and kindness that endeared him to so many.
Charles was an active member of several organizations. He was affiliated with the Media VFW Post 3460, the American Legion Post 305, the Serra Club, and St. Joseph's Preparatory School Alumni Association. Additionally, he was a member of the Retired Officers Association (ROA), where he maintained strong connections with fellow veterans.
Reflecting on Charles’ life reveals a tapestry of dedication to family, service, and community. He will be remembered not only for his numerous achievements and contributions but also for his kind heart and willingness to assist those in need. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
Charles’ life will be honored at his Funeral Mass, on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. John Neumann Church in Bryn Mawr, PA . Interment following at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA, with military honors.
