Charles Pennington

Charles S. Pennington, age 98, of Rosemont, PA, formerly of Bortondale, PA, passed away on September 16, 2015. Born in Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Margaret Pennington (nee Burke).
Charles was a graduate of Chester High School and attended Drexel University. He was employed as a Chemist with Houdry in Linwood, PA for 40 years. He retired in 1979.
He was a member of Middletown Fire Company #1 and was a major fundraiser for the fire company. The Fire Company named a fire truck after him called "Charlie". He was an avid fisherman and loved people.
Charles was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Pennington (nee Pedrick). He is survived by his wife Anne Pennington (nee Yurgensen), his children Charles L. Pennington and Joan Harrold, his granddaughter Amy Schulman (Brian), his great-grandchildren Matthew and Sarah and his brother Bruce B. Pennington (his late wife Elizabeth Lewis).
Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Mass Thursday, September 24, 2015 11:00 AM St. John's Episcopal Church, 576 Concord Road, Glen Mills, PA. Interment is private.
Contributions in his memory to the Middletown Fire Company #1, 425 S. New Middletown Road, Media, PA 19063 would be appreciated.
